Pharmacists:

APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery (Certificate Training Program) - February 5, 2021

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program is based on national educational standards for immunization training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  This practice-based curriculum represents a fusion of science and clinical pharmacy. The program, which emphasizes a health care team approach, seeks to foster the implementation of interventions that will promote disease prevention and public health.  The purpose of this certificate training program is to prepare pharmacists with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide immunization services to patients across the life span. 

Training Details:
Cost: $249 for MPA Members; $399 for Non-members; and $29 for an Administration Kit
When: Friday, February 5, 2021
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (technology troubleshooting at 7:45 AM)

Program Requirements:
  • Complete the 12-hour online self-study modules
  • Complete the 8-hour virtual live seminar
  • Complete Injection Technique Assessment Exercise


Technicians:

APhA/WSU Pharmacy-Based Immunization Administration by Pharmacy Technicians- February 12, 2021

APhA/WSU Pharmacy-Based Immunization Administration by Pharmacy Technicians training program explores the expanding role of the pharmacy technician by providing additional skills training to administer immunizations.  This two-part program emphasizes a health care team collaboration between pharmacists and technicians which seeks to improve population health by increasing immunization rates in states that allow technicians to immunize.   • Complete the 4-hour virtual live seminar
  • Complete Injection Technique Assessment Exercise (you will need a pharmacist or another pharmacy technician partner available during the assessment)
